Permeating all matter

About what truly belongs

Bizarrely ablaze now, I ponder a plot
To flee the vessel, the anchor that weights us all down
Disappointment in the orb
And its sightless flock
Gradually seep in
Through incisions on my skin
They called this a blessing
All I see is coffin dust
Waiting to be shed
Back into Earth’s embrace
A blinding geist
Stole my dearest midnights
When I wrote to the ghosts beyond
To carry me to their feast
When the great endless blue above dwarfs you…

As it meets our wondrous spires
Casting out the old in their shade
Into a view beyond recall
No nebula can match the colors
Of our brand new firmament
There gleams a decalogue of change
The grand caterer to modern man
We’ve soared so high
Above timber and stone
We’ve outgrown survival itself
Flown out of the hourglass
Into a vast desert of plenty
It is as if the future really is of our choosing
And not a whim of some faceless fate
We’ll sculpt this rock to fit its greatest kin
As stardust incarnate, how can it be wrong?
Bestowed a veil of glory
To keep a grip on disdain
The braces we cannot throw aside
Autonomy twisted and maimed
Reluctantly running our course
In envy of what we’ve surpassed
Toys for sickly children
To mix and match as they please
Indignant sloth of our fervor
Will not grant us release
But Gaia’s parasites are doomed to fade
This ersatz shell cannot last
The beast has not been slain
Its teeth were never dulled
The venom boils ceaselessly
In its sacs, in its wounds
That hideous mug
Taints every clear surface
It can never see itself
For what it truly is
Back into the lair it goes
To sleep some hundreds more
To toss and turn within the cradle
And pray for purpose till end of days

My carnal monolith
The same matter within us
The essence of cosmos
It is the covenant
Mother, put your sorrows to rest
Our worlds are distant no more
This is where I lay
Each unsung enmity
Every broken failure
Sempiternal deviance
As an ode to frailty
A burial of conflicts
That once tore the soul
Let them be the stronghold
To withstand oblivion
To tie all shaken fragments into one
From the scars…
The crises…

I saw these gents open the evening for DWeF in Trier some weeks ago. The vocalist seemed terribly shy between songs and then went full-on beastmode on the vocals again; him overcoming this was one of the most metal things I have ever seen. Vi Overlevde is, excuse this, bizarrely good. Not too posty, but still with a remarkable edge and a pretty unique feel to it. Maybe I'm still carried away by the live performance, but alas! This is great. Ensomhet is... beyond words. Kom til meg!
